Poverty and Global Conflict

I almost feel like I want to apologize for a hard-hitting post title. Regardless, I came across the video below on Apple’s site as one of their featured media artists. The video retells the story of a former marine turned non-profit entrepreneur as the organization works to battle arguably the leading fuel of terrorism - dangerous poverty and the desperation that comes with it. Really digging on the clever use and implementation of illustration, motion graphics and video to tell the story in a simple, effective way that is both hard-hitting, yet inspiring without having a bludgeoning, “bleeding-heart” overtone. Ideologically, I appreciate that he exposes this greater theme that fuels much of the conflict that shows up in our news headlines.
